Industrial and Agriculture

Make process and resource tradeoffs visible.

I help product, process and R&D teams compare technical options, trace the assumptions behind a model and improve the data work around a decision. Industrial operations and agriculture bring different constraints. The scope starts with yours.

Different settings. Specific decisions.

Industrial product and process teams

  • Compare process routes when yield, throughput, materials, energy or water assumptions change the answer.
  • Decide which measurement or development milestone matters before the next pilot or investment.

Agricultural and nutrition teams

  • Reconcile ingredient prices, nutrient records, assay exports and requirements before a domain expert reviews a choice.
  • Connect agricultural-biotechnology evidence to a process-development or scale-up decision.

Across either setting, repeated reporting and record reconciliation can also be a useful starting point. These are possible engagement situations. Each needs its own data, constraints and reviewer.

Choose the output your team needs.

A process comparison, an R&D roadmap and a workflow build solve different problems. We can scope one without committing you to the others.

Compare costs and resources around one choice

See which assumptions drive a process decision and whether the conclusion survives a different scenario. The objective can be cost, materials, energy, water, yield or throughput.

You receiveObjective-Function TEA Model

  • Decision question, system boundary and comparison cases
  • Inspectable process logic with assumptions and source inputs
  • Sensitivity analysis and a decision memo naming the next evidence needed

Bring: Adequate technical process evidence, resource quantities, source-linked cost assumptions and the constraint you need to compare.

Process Economics Decision Model

Set a decision gate for product or process R&D

Decide whether to continue, redirect, partner, license, pause or stop genuine technical development. This is not a general operations-management engagement.

You receiveR&D Decision Roadmap

  • Map of demonstrated evidence, assumptions and open risks
  • Alternative development paths and dependencies
  • Decision-linked milestones and the next experiments or external checks

Bring: The technical state, intended product or process, development options, commercial assumptions and pending investment decision.

R&D Decision Roadmap

Find a useful pilot in recurring data work

Assess whether one reporting, reconciliation or analytical workflow warrants automation, and which steps should stay deterministic or with a domain expert.

You receiveWorkflow Diligence Readout

  • Current-state workflow map and baseline or baseline gap note
  • Risk-and-value ranking of possible automation points
  • One pilot specification, implementation estimate and build, narrow, defer or stop memo

Bring: People who run the workflow, representative inputs and outputs, process notes, known constraints and a decision-maker.

AI Workflow Diligence Sprint

Build one bounded analytical workflow

Test a defined data or document workflow on representative records before deciding whether it merits production integration.

You receiveVerified Workflow Pilot

  • Working pilot with agreed acceptance and stop criteria
  • Deterministic checks, risk-based tests and reviewable run records
  • Client-owned code, operating notes and a readiness memo

Bring: An agreed workflow specification, permitted sample data, expected outputs and an accountable technical reviewer.

Custom AI Workflow Pilot

Bioprocess or agricultural biotechnology

When there is a real biological process result and a pending development or scale decision, the Biotech Development and Scale-Up Plan can fit. It is not a general offer for every farm or industrial process.

Bring organism or assay information, operating conditions, yields, variability and analytical methods. The Lab-to-Plant Decision Plan maps process evidence, scale-dependent risks, analytical gaps, focused experiments and decision gates. Wet-lab execution and detailed plant engineering remain with the appropriate teams.

Review an AI candidate before relying on it

AI Technical Advisory provides an AI Decision Brief and Advisory Record for an actual adoption, vendor, governance or project decision.

A bounded workflow evaluation can examine an existing candidate against representative cases, agreed failure consequences and acceptance criteria. Scoped outputs include an evaluation plan, reproducible checks and results, limitations and a use, revise, restrict or stop recommendation. Testing does not grant production or safety approval.

Specialized validation, communication and funding support

Synthetic Data Validation fits an existing synthetic dataset or generator with a defined downstream use. Bring the real and synthetic data available in an agreed environment and realistic disclosure risks. The Synthetic Data Validation Scorecard separates fidelity, utility and privacy evidence; it gives no anonymity guarantee or certification.

Technical Communications creates an Audience-Ready Communications Package from approved evidence for a defined audience. That can be a process-option brief, technical report, partner presentation or talk, with source files and a claim-and-evidence check.

Federal work is conditional: an eligible technical project and actual solicitation for a Heilmeier Gap Map, or recurring federal proposal work for a Proposal Lifecycle Repository. These are not generic agricultural grant services or promises of an award.

Make the basis of comparison inspectable.

For a process model, bring the flow or operating logic, available quantities, resource and cost assumptions, comparison cases and source records. State the boundary and what you need to optimize. If the evidence is too thin to model responsibly, the useful output may be a data-gathering plan.

For agricultural or nutrition data work, bring the relevant ingredient records, price versions, assay exports, requirements and constraints, plus the person responsible for interpreting them. For recurring workflows, include representative inputs, desired outputs, exceptions and review responsibilities. We agree data permissions and handling before using the material.

Work from the decision back to the data.

  1. Name the choice and its owner

Define the process or workflow boundary, the limiting resource, the deliverable and who will review the conclusion.

  2. Trace inputs and expose gaps

Separate observations, reference values, estimates and unknowns. Identify constraints and measurements that could change the answer.

  3. Compare or test

Build the scoped model or pilot, examine scenarios and failure cases, and keep domain judgment in the review.

  4. Review the next action

Hand over the model, roadmap or code with sources, limitations and a written recommendation. Decide what to investigate, change or stop.

For an uncertain workflow, the Half-Day Workflow Teardown provides a smaller working session and written readout on whether Diligence is warranted. Diligence defines and estimates a pilot; it does not build it. A Pilot follows that scope or an equivalent agreed specification. A process model or R&D roadmap can be a standalone engagement.

Methods you can inspect, without inflated maturity.

Conceptual analysis

Process economics with a different limiting resource

The space-biomanufacturing TEA compared technical routes around a mission-wide mass objective. It illustrates why the objective function and system boundary belong at the beginning of the model.

This is a conceptual process study, not deployed hardware or evidence of savings at an industrial plant. A terrestrial application requires its own data and boundary.

Historical employment work

Animal-nutrition analysis through product development

The microbiome case describes historical work at a major animal-nutrition company, connecting scientific analysis, product development and commercialization.

This career precedent is separate from current consulting and the current analytical reconstruction. It does not establish a completed feed-optimization consulting engagement or a commercial formulation product.

For document workflows, the source-linked retrieval implementation shows a further method. It was tested on a small, controlled corpus, not a production industrial or agricultural document set.

Analytical support with responsible review.

These offers do not provide live production control, plant or equipment engineering, certified feed or veterinary advice, farm operations, lender-grade estimates, investment advice or guaranteed savings. Models and tools support decisions made by your responsible engineers, nutritionists, scientists and operating teams.

Operational integration, security approval, monitoring and continuing support are separately scoped. A prototype or research example is not evidence of a deployed client system. A positive pilot result still leaves production work and organizational approval to address.
